Two World Class Concert Pianists: Bratlie & Cantea

Jens Harald Bratlie (73) of Oslo, Norway and Dragoș Andrei Cantea (29) of Iași, Romania are together today´s guests in «Pastor Torp».

Dr. Bratlie was a Professor of piano (1973-2018) as well as the Principal (1999-2002) of The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, whereas Dr. Dragoș Andrei Cantea has a Ph.D. from the George Enescu National University of Arts in Iași, and he has also taken a second Master’s Degree at The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, at the classes of renowned pianist Håvard Gimse.

Both the senior and the junior are recognized as world class concert pianists.

Dragoș is particularly happy to meet Jens Harald in this program in that Jens Harald was the mentor of Håvard Gimse, who is Dragoș´ mentor.

Jan-Aage brings them together at the Steinway Piano Gallery where they discuss the relationship between a younger and an elder concert pianist, and they share perspectives on the role of music as well as faith in God.

In the beginning of the program they play four-handed the Norwegian Dance No. 2 by Edvard Grieg. At the end Dragoș presents a musical painting from Spain by Enrique Granados.
